Farm Credit language info

On July 6, 2007, the Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture released his mark of the Farm Bill. Title V-Credit, contains new language that will greatly expand the lending authorities of the Farm Credit System (FCS), a 90-year old Government Sponsored Enterprise (GSE). The Farm Credit System has a national presence and is the only GSE with direct, retail lending authority " which means that it lends directly to farmers, ranchers, rural businesses, and rural home owners in competition with banks and other financial institutions.
