Oklahoma banks saw their overall income and deposits take a marked rise during the fourth quarter of 2010 compared to this same time in 2009, according to the latest edition of the FDIC's Quarterly Banking Profile.

Banks in this state saw an increase in net income of nearly $200 million and had deposits rise by more than $3 billion over the numbers reported in the fourth quarter of 2009.

This reflects the current national trend where banks and savings institutions earned $21.7 billion in the fourth quarter of 2010, marking the second-highest quarterly total in three years.
