ABA, other trade groups refute claim interchange rule won't hurt small banks

The American Bankers Association, along with three other financial services trade groups, responded on May 10 to a letter the Merchants Payments Coalition sent to the House Financial Institutions Subcommittee Chairman recently.

The letter by the Coalition disputed the negative effect the debit interchange amendment – known as the Durbin Amendment – would have on small financial institutions.

The ABA refuted this claim with its own letter to House Financial Institutions Subcomittee Chairman Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.V.). You can read the letter by clicking here.
