Nationwide meetings in response to Dodd-Frank Act provision

According to the ABA, nationwide meetings will be held in May and June by federal banking regulators in response to a Dodd-Frank Act provision that requires them to assess banks' diversity policies and practices.

To help regulators, the ABA and the state bankers associations are identifying bankers who can explain how their banks hire employees who reflect the communities they serve, and how opportunities are given for home-grown talent to advance.

The meetings are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 8 in Chicago, May 10 in Dallas, May 15 in New York, May 18 in Charlotte, N.C., and June 6 in San Francisco.

For bankers interested in attending a meeting to tell their institutions' diversity success stories, contact ABA's Rob Rowe or Gary Fields.
