OBA looking for bankers' thoughts on 'too-big-to-fail'

It's not too late to let us know what you think about ending “too-big-to-fail” and the Brown-Vitter bill (S. 798). The survey we originated (click here to take the survey) shows that so far – by about a 2-1 margin – Oklahoma bankers do not support breaking up the big banks as required by Brown-Vitter. Nearly 80 percent support the idea of a bifurcated system or a separate charter for community banks as a better way to address the competitive advantage that larger Wall Street firms have because they are perceived to be “too-big-to-fail”.
