The Oklahoman: Oklahoma banks less affected by oil prices than in past

The Oklahoman recently released a story regarding the state's 1980s oil-based economy in comparison to today's economy. According to the article, there is one major difference between the 1980s and now, which is Oklahoma's community banks did not have as much at stake in the latest boom. In other words, not nearly as many banks are failing in today's economy than the amount that did in the 1980s because of more diversified portfolios.
