According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 235,000 in August. In August, the total number of unemployed people fell to 8.4 million, and the unemployment rate fell to 5.2%.
Professional and business services, transportation and warehousing, private education and manufacturing accounted for the majority of employment growth in August.
