OBA robbery training video available; info on ATM jackpotting

As the year barrels toward its end, we listened to our bankers and heard the need for a tool for robbery training.

All banks have their own policies, as they should, and those are usually always clearly communicated to staff. To enhance your training, we have recorded a half-hour Zoom training that includes the basics and best practices on which we have always trained. This format allows time to discuss your own details such as all-clear codes and alarm policies.

To obtain a link for the training, contact Elaine Dodd at elaine@oba.com.

In other news, our friends at the Secret Service just issued an alert on the ATM jackpotting surge. It occurs when malware is introduced to the hard drive or a MITM (man-in-the-middle) technique is used to interrupt communications with the ATM hard drive. The goal is to direct the ATM to dispense cash.

Tips on protection as well as photos from multiple states including Oklahoma are found in this downloadable pdf.
