The 2022 OBA Convention and Trade Show will make its return this month when it will be held on May 18-20 at the Omni Hotel in Oklahoma City.
This year’s theme is centered around that decade of decadence, the 1980s, hence our convention name of “The OB80s”
Attendees can expect a fun atmosphere, highlighted by the Throwback Thursday fun on the convention’s second day. A bankers/exhibitors reception will be held in the general session room at the hotel that afternoon evening, which will feature all the greatest musical hits of the 1980s – as picked by our attendees on their submitted registration form! We expect to see you there wearing your best 1980s ensemble – sweat bands, jams, day-glo shirts, etc!
After the reception, attendees are invited to continue the fun – and games! – at Flashback RetroPub, just a couple blocks down the street. 1980s-era video game classics such as Pac-Man, Dig-Dug, Galaga and Asteroids are all available for action, as well as drinks and camaraderie with peers!
The convention events actually fully kick off Wednesday, however, with an 18-hole scramble on the beautiful golf course at The Golf Club of Edmond. Later that day, there will be an OBA Emerging Leader reception at the hotel.
The next day, the convention will move into the plush, sparkling rooms at the host hotel, the Omni, and, as usual, a jam-packed convention offering plenty of take-home value for attendees.
Introductions of the OBA Board of Directors, as well as recognizing the graduates of the 2021-22 OBA Emerging Leaders Academy, will take place on Thursday morning, followed by multiple breakout sessions and the annual business luncheon at noon.
Friday will feature our keynote speaker, Dr. Ed Seifried, who will touch on a post-COVID economic forecast for the country. Our “PULSE Sesssions” will follow, featuring short presentations from a couple of our prominent bankers. The annual awards lunch will then get started at 11 a.m.
If you haven’t registered already, visit the front page of OBA.com to download a registration form. If you have any questions, contact the OBA’s education department.
We look forward to seeing you there!
